Stars v Chiefs in MTN8 semis

Johannesburg - Defending MTN8 champions, Platinum Stars were drawn to face Kaizer Chiefs in the semi-finals of the top eight competition, while Orlando Pirates and Wits will square-off in the second semi-final, to be played over two legs.

The draw ensures the Soweto Derby is still on the cards, should Chiefs and Pirates advance through to the final.

Chiefs were the last team to book their spot in the last four, comfortably beating Mpumalanga Black Aces 4-0 on Sunday.

On Friday, Wits kicked-off the tournament with a penalty shootout victory over Bloemfontein Celtic in Johannesburg.

On Saturday, Pirates beat SuperSport United 2-1, after Stars shocked defending league champions Mamelodi Sundowns by the same scoreline earlier in the day.

The quartet make up an exact replica of last season’s last four, with Stars and Pirates going on to challenge for the trophy, which Dikwena eventually lifted, courtesy of a penalty shootout.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
