Stars to deepen Chippa's scar

Cape Town - Free State Stars will look to continue their winning run in the Absa Premiership when they host Chippa United at Goble Park.

Stars recorded a third successive league win when they defeated Bidvest Wits 1-0 at home in midweek.

The Free State side has claimed 22 points from 13 home matches this season.

Their remaining league opponents are Chippa United (home), Bloemfontein Celtic (away) and Black Aces (home).

Ea Lla Koto are placed 12th on the Absa Premiership log with 31 points from 27 matches.

Chippa suffered their third home defeat of the season when they were beaten 2-1 by Bloemfontein Celtic in midweek.

The Eastern Cape side has claimed eight points from 13 away matches this season.

Their remaining league opponents are Black Aces (away) and Kaizer Chiefs (home).

The Chilli Boys are placed 14th on the Absa Premiership log with 29 points from 27 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Stars and Chippa have met in three league matches since 2012/13.

Ea Lla Koto have claimed two wins, while the Chilli Boys have one victory to their name.

Stars’ only previous home league game against Chippa was a 3-0 win in the second half of the 2012/13 season.

When the teams met earlier this season, a goal from Twala took the Chilli Boys to a 1-0 home win.

Kick-off is at 15:00 on Saturday, May 2.
