Ea Lla Koto recently announced that they are in the market for a striker to partner Sekola in the new season.

According to a Sport24 source at the Free State team, the club is interested in bringing Robert Ssentongo of Ugandan Revenue Authority (URA), who was the top goal scorer in Uganda with 15 goals during the recently ended 2014/15 campaign.

“I think the club has already made contacted with him and talks are ongoing,” the source said.

“He is not the only striker identified; our coaches were at the COSAFA Cup and were also impressed by a striker from Tanzania.”

The 28-year-old Ssentogo has also played for Saint George in Ethiopia but he missed URA Confederation’s Cup matches against Orlando Pirates due to suspension.

A Sport24 source in Uganda said they are not surprised that the powerful striker has attracted clubs in the PSL.

“He is a powerful striker with an eye for goal. He has also been instrumental for the national team and is among a group preparing for next weekend’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Botswana,” he said.

Ssentongo was also the top goal scorer during the 2011/12 season where he also won the footballer of the year Award.
