Champions SuperSport United are the current favourites to land the 33-year-old former Bafana Bafana midfielder, who left Russians Rubin Kazan at the end of 2010. Agent Mike Makaab admitted that Sibaya is interested in joining Gavin Hunt's side but is currently weighing up his options.
"There is truth in the rumours about SuperSport but they are by no means the only team in the PSL that are interested," he told Football365.co.za
"It's all about what kind of deal suits the player - he wants to be at a club that he fits into and where he can win some trophies. I expect a decision to be made in the next week."
Having spent eight years in Europe playing for Norwegians Rosenborg and then Kazan, Sibaya had initially hoped to extend his stay overseas. But Makaab revealed that the man who started his career at Jomo Cosmos had decided it was time to return to his homeland.
"We discussed the possibility of MacBeth staying in Europe at length but players get to a certain age when they need to come back," he said.
"It's logical that he looks to the future and tries to build a career for himself after football as well as playing for the last few years of his career."
Despite his recent inaction, Sibaya will be hoping to be included in Pitso Mosimane's squad to face Burkina Faso next week when it is announced on Thursday. The midfield anchorman has started all of 'Jungles' matches in charge so far and Makaab believes he still has plenty to offer.
"MacBeth's still in great shape so it won't take him too long to get back to full fitness," he said.
"It's up to the coach to decided whether he fits into his plans but he has shown in the last few matches how important he can be for the Bafana team."
