Soweto Derby in December?

Cape Town - Computicket have indicated that the Soweto Derby between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs will likely be played in December.

The match was postponed earlier this week due to the death of Pirates captain Senzo Meyiwa and the provisional new date is now believed to be December 20 provided both parties involved agree.

The original ABSA Premiership matches scheduled for December 20 (Pirates vs. Bloemfontein Celtic and Chiefs vs. Mpumalanga Black Ace) are set to be rescheduled for early next year.

Fans who bought tickets to the Derby can either retain them and use them on December 20 or return them for a full refund.

However, word reaching KickOff.com website is that all details regarding the movement of the fixture have not been finalised, meaning this date is not yet set in stone until official confirmation has been received.

"The @OfficialPSL has not confirmed a new date for the #AbsaPrem Soweto Derby," tweeted PSL official Lux September.

"The PSL will, at an appropriate time, release a statement on a new date for the #AbsaPrem Soweto Derby fixture."

Seven other League matches scheduled for this weekend are still going ahead.
