Johannesburg - Jomo Sono has vowed to lead Jomo Cosmos to an immediate return to the PSL next season following their relegation on Saturday.
Ezenkosi have to start preparing for life in the National First Division after they were relegated for the second time in three years following their 1-0 loss to Moroka Swallows at the Dobsonville Stadium.
Sono's charges finished the season at the bottom of the PSL standings after fellow relegation strugglers Mpumalanga Black Aces managed a 1-1 draw with Ajax to finish above them and earn a play-off spot.
The Bafana Bafana legend admitted that his side were not good enough this season as they failed to find the back of the net on a regular basis.
"We are honest we just weren't good enough this season," he told Football365.co.za.
"The biggest problem for us was not scoring enough goals, if we scored more goals his season we wouldn't have got relegated."
Although Sono was left disappointed by his side's relegation, he remains in high spirits as he eyes an immediate return to the PSL
"I'm in high spirits and know that we are going to do well in the cup and we will be back in the PSL soon.
"I plan to retire at the end of the 2010, so I want to lead Jomo Cosmos back to the PSL before I do this," he added.
