Sono: I'll be back

Johannesburg - Jomo Cosmos coach Jomo Sono says that he cannot fault his players after they were relegated to the National First Division on Wednesday.

Cosmos were on the brink of dropping out of the Premier Soccer League ahead of their match with Black Leopards but despite a spirited comeback to secure a 2-2 draw, it was not enough to save their season.

"I thought the first-half we played very well. We created a lot of chances. We gave them two easy goals and then after the goals the whole team woke up and started to attack them - we could have won the game," said Sono.

"The guys played very well, I'm very proud of them. They've been playing like this the whole year and I cannot fault them or blame them."

When asked if he had any regrets for the season, he said, "The regrets is that we should have won all the games."

The Cosmos coach also revealed that he had no intentions of stepping aside, saying, "Jomo Sono will be there (next season) and will be back in three months."
