Chiefs will win the league

Cape Town - Former Mpumalanga Black Aces defender Lucas Tlhomelang has absolutely no doubt that Kaizer Chiefs will lift the Premiership title this season, after their commanding start to the league campaign.

"Chiefs will win the league," Tlhomelang told goal.com.

There have been some doubts expressed about Chiefs' composure at the business end of the season, especially after they capitulated in similar circumstances last season, but Tlhomelang believes they will not suffer the same fate this time round.

"They have learnt through their mistakes from last season and are very disciplined this season. They only have to win six games in the second round," added Tlhomelang.

At the other end of the spectrum, Tlhomelang believes that the battle to avoid relegation will be a tough one, especially for KwaZulu-Natal’s AmaZulu, who are in a most precarious position at this juncture.

"AmaZulu will have to work hard," said the retired footballer.

"It's sad [that they are at the bottom of the log], and for them it will be about points. They need to win their first few games of the second round or else they might be in trouble," he added.
