Sikhakhane: Chippa switched off

Cape Town - Chippa United coach Roger Sikhakhane felt his side lost focus after they suffered a 2-0 defeat at home to SuperSport United on Tuesday.

Both of Matsatsantsa's goals came from set-pieces as Clayton Daniels and Jeremy Brockie scored either side of half-time at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

Daniels headed home a corner from Thuso Phala on 42 minutes, with Brockie securing victory four minutes from time as he volleyed home a free-kick at the far post.

Sikhakhane admitted complacency cost the Chilli Boys in midweek following back-to-back wins over Polokwane City and Maritzburg United in the Premiership.

"After winning our last two games in the league against Polokwane City and Maritzburg United, maybe we were complacent," he said after the match.

"Maybe it's a wake up call.

"We played well and controlled the game but SuperSport used their chances.

"We knew they would be dangerous from set-pieces and that is where both their goals came from.

"Somewhere down the line the players switched off.

"We didn't defend the set pieces well, maybe the players slipped off."
