Shabba out to defeat Aces

Cape Town - The MTN8 competition kicks off on the first weekend in August - and Siphiwe Tshabalala wants to end it as a champion.

Kaizer Chiefs are set to take on Mpumalanga Black Aces on August 3 and Shabba insists that The Glamour Boys want nothing but a win against Aces.

“The MTN8 Cup will certainly be one we aim to win. We are thinking positively and believe that this season we can do better. Our supporters deserve to be happy and that we will make sure they are,” said Tshabalala on his website.

During the crucial stages of the PSL campaign Aces handed the boys from Naturena a defeat that would cost Amakhosi defending their PSL crown and Tshabalala says that the lost is still fresh in his memory.

“I recall that they defeated us close to the end of the season in the recently concluded campaign. We played against a good and formidable side, so this time we will be prepared.”

“For the whole tournament we aim to play impressive football that will get us victories. With no excuses, we will be ready.”

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
