Shabba: We play to defend our league title

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs captain Siphiwe Tshabalala believes his team is still on course to defend their Premiership title, despite there being room for improvement.

The reigning league champions were held to a draw by a stubborn Chippa United at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

Tshabalala was pleased to return to Naturena with a point from his first league match as the club's skipper, although he admitted Amakhosi should have put in a better performance than they did.

"It was a very entertaining game for both teams but I feel like we should have done better than we did," Tshabalala told Soccer Laduma.

"It's however good that we didn't lose the game.

"We came back with a point and we can take some positives from that game going forward as we play to defend our league title."
