Shabba: I am getting used to the captaincy

Cape Town - Newly appointed Kaizer Chiefs captain Siphiwe Tshabalala says he is still finding his feet in his new role.

The former Bafana Bafana regular has led the team in three games and says that he is still getting used to being the captain of the team.

"It's a big responsibility to lead a team like Chiefs and I am getting used to it," Tshabalala said.

"I am learning each and everyday that I am captaining the team."

Last season the departed Tefu Mashamaite led the club for most of the season, while before that Itumeleng Khune wore the armband, who only re-signed with the club after Tshabalala’s appointment.

Tshabalala also said that while he is the one wearing the the armband, he is not the only leader on the field of play.

"I am surrounded by good players who help me every time I walk onto the field," Shabba continued.

"It's a big job to be the captain of Chiefs and I want to help the team win things and be successful.”

Tshabalala is set to lead Chiefs again this Sunday when Amakhosi take on Bloemfontein Celtic in the first-leg of the MTN8 semi-finals.

Kick-off is at 15:00.
