No awards for NFD? Player of the season, how did they decide to only have the top scorer award only? Rooi Mahamutsa is still my overall player of the season. He is the pillar of strength in that Krol defence. Congra to Serero, great season indeed.

U knw, football is a crazy game sumtimes & so is the ppl who run it & the fans who love it! This buoy is gud, don't gt me wrong, he's vry gud in fact! Howeva, some of us free thinking fans knw 4 a fact that had he not signed that groundbreaking, record breaking, multilillion rand deal with the dutch giants, he wud hav been at the bottom of the pecking order. Again, don't get me wrong, this wudn't hav had anythin do with the buoy's talent or lack theroff, bt fat cat with a chipped tooth wud hav been standing nxt to sum mediocre 'star' from a team wearin black & white, which jst about fortunately won the treble, cuz another mediocre/inconsistant team in black & gold had handed the championship 2 them! I jst call it like I C it.Congrats young man! Keepon upsetting the odds.

I think the boy deserves to be honoured however we are honouring a team that was runner-up in the league. AJAX as team froze when they needed to rise to the occassion. It was Teko honoured without any achievement at club level, its now this talented young fellow. When are we going to learn that individual perfomance should be matched by team perfomance nothing less, you win gold not silver never.

Can somebody educate me on the criteria for the selection of the Player of the Season / Year? If the main criteria is helping your team win silverware then I'm puzzled by the chosen player. What did Ajax win last season to make Serero a deserving winner? I have nothing against Serero, he played very well before he choked in the last few games. I had the same problem when Teko Modise won the same accolade for two seasons without Pirates having won a thing. In this country we are used to rewarding mediocrity so much that we even fail to recognise deserving winners. Pirates won three cups and surely one of their players deserve it. I WOULD ARGUE THAT WINNING SOME SILVERWARE MUST BE THE MAIN CRITERIA FOR BEING CONSIDERED FOR THE TOP CROWN.

Somebody please help me to understand the criteria used to select the goal keeper of the season nominations? How was Itumeleng Khune left out on this category? He conceded least goals and certainly Hans Vonk would never get number 1 jersey with Khune in the same team. Which keeper is better than Khune with the distribution of the ball? Or is it a technicality of match played or something?

is this commenting system working or what..?

  • Mbusi - 2011-05-30 14:18

oh now its working.. let me put my views nxa after this long i waited...!

  • Mbusi - 2011-05-30 14:19

The likes of OUPA MANYESA, MIKE MAYAMBELA, THULASIZWE MBUYANE, ANDILE JALI, TLOU SEKGOLELA etc... should have walked away with those awards just like SUPERSPORT did for the past 3 seasons. The awards were obviously not fair to the Baccaneer players..! NXA umona phanzi maaaan haai! SHAPA BAKABAKA SHAPA!!!
