Cape Town - SuperSport United defender Thabo September says that he is
enjoying getting back into the thick of things after being sidelined by
injury.
The 31-year-old is yet to feature this season due to a knee injury, but has slowly been working his way back to full fitness by turning out for SSU's reserve team.
"I have been enjoying myself after recovering from the injury I picked up last season and have so far played in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge," he explained to the club's official website.
Matsatsantsa have recovered from a poor start to the campaign to climb to 10th in the standings, with a home defeat to Maritzburg United the lone blemish on new head coach Gordon Igesund's league record.
United responded to the defeat by dispatching of Bidvest Wits in the Telkom Knockout, much to the delight of September.
"We showed character after our loss against Maritzburg United to go to Bidvest and win. We had to be on high alert and managed to win the game," said the experienced campaigner.
"We started the game very well and got an early goal but then we let Wits back into the game and they equalized.
"In the second half both teams gave their best but we made a good substitution in Lebogang Manyama with fresh legs upfront and created problems for them on the counter and got our reward. It was a well fought victory (2-1) and everyone played a big role."
Next on the agenda for SuperSport is a trip to Moroka Swallows on Wednesday for a Premiership fixture.
