Sekola has a lot to learn

Cape Town - Free State Stars striker Richard Henyekane has been advising new Bafana Bafana recruit Moeketsi Sekola.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Henyekane reveals that Moeketsi still has a lot to learn and urges the striker to focus completely on his football.

“It is simple,” says Henyekane.

“He [Moeketsi] is still a young boy and there is still a lot that he has to learn. For me, right now he is doing well.”

“We don’t want any of that to go to his head, so I have just told him that he should sit down and concentrate on his football.”

Sekola was called up to the national squad by Shakes Mashaba following the late withdrawals of May Mahlangu (fatigue) and Sibusiso Vilakazi (toe injury).

Henyekane, admitted that despite the age difference there is a considerable amount that he could learn from Moeketsi as well.

“There are also things that I learn from Moeketsi. But we must all understand, I am a senior player and he is still a young boy.

“We are learning from each other. The age is not such a big deal, sometimes we have to learn from each other.

“In order for the team to do well, it is not about the individuals, it is all about the team effort that we are putting into the team,” added Henyekane.

Stars face Bidvest Wits on Saturday, November 22 at Bidvest Stadium.

Kick-off is at 20:15.
