Scott: We did a fantastic job

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town midfielder Granwald Scott has praised on his team-mates after they saw off Orlando Pirates 1-0 in the MTN8 quarter-finals on Tuesday, August 4.

The Urban Warriors found themselves under immense pressure from the Buccaneers for the majority of the Orlando Stadium encounter, but still managed to weather the storm before Ndiviwe Mdabuka struck the only goal of the game.

Ajax now join Bidvest Wits in the semifinals, and Scott was understandably delighted with the effort from the Mother City outfit.

"I think the team did a fantastic job tonight. The teamwork, the team effort, the collective work we put in together as a team paid off," he said.

"It was fantastic. Big ups to my team and well done for progressing to the next round of the MTN8."

Scott does, however, feel the team can still improve, adding: "The boys are not there yet, we were struggling a little bit tonight after the 60th minute, but we can only grow from here.

"Ndiviwe [Mdabuka] did well tonight, he scored on debut, even Prince [Nxumalo] and Ruzaigh [Gamildien], all of them contributed to the win. They were all great additions to the squad."
