Cape Town - Santos coach Mart Nooij has been hospitalised due to an undisclosed reason.
According to SuperSport.com, Nooij was absent on the bench for his side’s PSL clash against Free State Stars here on Wednesday night.
The club did not disclose the nature of his illness, but said he is not in danger and expected to be released in two or three days’ time.
Duncan Crowie, who was replaced by Nooij ahead of the 2-1 win over Kaizer Chiefs in their previous home game, will again take charge.
Former Mozambique national team coach Nooij has been brought in to help Santos avoid relegation.
They currently lie second from bottom with 23 log points, seven ahead of bottom club Jomo Cosmos and one behind Black Leopards.
