Cape Town - Orlando Pirates have confirmed that defender Siyabonga Sangweni will be out of competitive football for a period of twelve weeks.
According to Pirates' official website, “Intsimbi” underwent a successful operation on his injured Achilles tendon on Thursday after picking up the injury on Tuesday night‘s Telkom Knockout last 16 encounter against Mpumalanga Black Aces when his team thumped the PSL rookies 3-1.
The veteran defender returned from a long-term knee injury at the beginning of last month and his absence could pave away back for the veteran captain, Lucky Lekgwathi, who last featured for the Buccaneers against Al Ahly of Egypt in the last group match of the CAF Champions league last month.
