Cape Town - Tom Saintfiet has revealed that his Free State Stars side will be fresh for their Absa Premiership encounter against Orlando Pirates.
Speaking to the club’s website, Saintfiet confessed to the plan that was in place with the international breaks did not cause hiccups in their schedule.
“Six of our players were also involved in the development team, in the Diski Challenge tournament in Pretoria. So it was not really a real break, everyone was occupied with something,” said Saintfiet.
“The group has been back together after the weekend and we have trained from Monday. Sure there are still some players who are battling with injury; some players are not yet available.”
“But we have a wide squad of players. So, we will be ready for it (Pirates).”
“At the moment we are fully in preparation for the important match against Orlando Pirates. The group is training well and we are also looking forward to that game,” added Saintfiet.
Meanwhile Orlando Pirates will look to return to winning ways in the Absa Premiership when they host Ea Lla Koto at Orlando Stadium on Saturday, October 18.
Stars recorded a third win from their last five league matches when they beat Moroka Swallows 3-2 at home.
Saintfiet’s side have already claimed three points from as many away matches this season.
Ea Lla Koto are placed sixth on the PSL log with 10 points from seven matches.
Kick-off is at 20:15.
