SSU withdraw Majoro offer

Johannesburg - SuperSport United withdrew its offer for striker Lehlohonolo Majoro from Kaizer Chiefs, the club announced on Monday.

This comes three days after United confirmed on social networking website Twitter it had signed a long-term contract with the Bafana Bafana international.

"We had agreed on personal terms with Majoro and in principle he was a SuperSport United player," Matsatsantsa chief executive Stan Matthews said in a statement.

"Unfortunately we didn't know he had signed pre-contract with Orlando Pirates without his agent being notified.

"So we as a club have decided to withdraw our offer for his services and wish him well for his future."

Majoro had confirmed late last year he was looking for a move away from Chiefs, due to a lack of regular game time.

The striker had since been linked to the likes of Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.

Majoro made 70 appearances for Amakhosi since joining from AmaZulu in 2011, scoring 20 goals along the way.

His contract with Chiefs was set to expire in June 2014, making him available to sign a pre-contract for another club.
