SAFA wishes Pirates well in Egypt

Cape Town - The South African Football Association (SAFA) has wished Orlando Pirates the best of luck in their crucial and much-anticipated semi-final second leg clash against Al Ahly in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Pirates, who take a 1-0 lead into the match, left for the North African country on Thursday, October 1.

"You have so far not disappointed the nation as has been the norm on your continental campaigns," said Dr Danny Jordaan.

"You are now just 90 minutes away from reaching the final and as an Association we are confident you have it in you to repeat the famous victory we saw at Orlando Stadium last weekend.

"Continue doing your best and hoisting the flag of the country higher. We wish you all of the best and may you return home safe and victorious."

In the other semi-final, Egyptian giants Zamalek have a mountain to climb in the second leg as they trail 1-5 from the first-leg against Etoile du Sahel.

The Pirates-Al Ahly fixture will take place on Sunday, October 4 at New Suez Stadium in Suez City, Egypt.

Kick-off is at 20:30.
