Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town coach Roger de Sa has confirmed Eleazar Rodgers and Thamsanqa Sangweni will not be extending their stay at Ikamva and are on their way back to Mamelodi Sundowns.
De Sa told KickOff.com that his decision not to field the two players against Platinum Stars on the weekend was based on the fact that they will not be part of the Urban Warriors setup during the 2014/15 season.
Rodgers and Sangweni were loaned by Sundowns to Ajax until the end of the current campaign.
“Rodgers and Sangweni will be going back [to Downs] and there was no point really in fielding them against Platinum Stars,” De Sa said.
“This is why we tried a lot of combinations during that match, I fielded a lot of youngsters. I managed to have a look at Simba [Sithole] as well as other new players,” De Sa adds.
De Sa says he would need at least five new players when the transfer window opens.
“We have a few players that we would like to acquire. I am in constant talks with management on this and our options will have much to do with the budget of the club,” De Sa explained.
