R650k a month for Khune - reports

Cape Town – If Kaizer Chiefs lure Itumeleng Khune back to Naturena it will cost the Sowetan giants a cool R7.8m a year, according to reports.

Sport24 reported that Chiefs Football Manager Bobby Motaung had confirmed that the club was sitting down with both Khune and Mandla Masango, but that the duo was “playing hard ball”.

"We have been talking to the players and they have been playing hard ball, and making ridiculous demands. In life you must humble yourself, and also be clear about what you want as a person,” said Motaung. (Read the full story HERE)

Khune’s contract expired at the end of June as the club failed to reach an agreement to extend the goalkeeper’s deal.

According to Soccer Laduma, 'Spiderkid' will earn roughly R650 000 a month if Chiefs and the ‘keeper come to a consensus.

Khune has been training on his own during the off-season - sharing footage of his sessions with his 140 000-plus Instagram followers.
