Johannesburg - Former Bafana Bafana defender Bradley Carnell admits that it will take some time for Thabo Qalinge to break into Orlando Pirates' starting XI.
“He has a lot to offer in terms of what he can do, but I am sure the coach will blend him in, it will take some time."
"But he can always come in and create a stir,” said Carnell about the 23-year-old.
According to KickOff, former Bafana Bafana defender Carnell is Qalinge’s adviser and the defender believes the tough competition in the Buccaneers squad is the reason for Qalinge's limited game time.
“Pirates has a very good squad, a lot of depth,” said the former international defender.
Carnell mentioned the likes of Lehlohonolo Majoro, Kermit Erasmus, Mpho Makola and Sifiso Myeni who are all playing well and thus making it difficult for "Section 10" to get more game time in the Buccaneers team.
“It is quite tough to break into the team, but he (Qalinge) knew that when he signed for the club.” added Carnell.
The Moses Mabhida Stadium will play host for the much anticipated MTN8 final between Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday, September 20.
Kick-off for this encounter is set for 20:15.
