Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns will be looking to consolidate second place when they welcome Platinum Stars to the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Wednesday, April 22.
Sundowns are second on the Premiership table, but still trail Kaizer Chiefs by 13 points.
Instead of trying to chase the leaders, their concern will be over their shoulder with Bidvest Wits just two points behind, although the Clever Boys have played a game more.
The Brazilians' form has been ambivalent in their last five fixates, winning two, losing two and drawing the other one.
There is a shadow hanging over the Pretoria-based club after their 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Bloemfontein Celtic in their previous match. But Pitso Mosimane will remember beating Dikwena 3-1 in the Nedbank Cup earlier this year and will be looking for a reaction from his players.
Platinum Stars have drawn their last two games and will now be worried about relegation, as the bottom two are just six points behind them, although AmaZulu and Moroka Swallows have both played a game more than Dikwena.
Three points will help them climb the table, and avoiding a late relegation scrap should be good motivation to get something from this match.
"A team like Sundowns don't lose 5-0 and just sit back," said Stars coach Cavin Johnson, who expects Sundowns to bounce back from their latest defeat with an improved showing against his team.
"Going to Pretoria and knowing the caliber of players Sundowns have, I'm sure we are going to be in for a nice game of football."
Kick-off is at 19:30.
