Preview: Polokwane v Chiefs

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs will be looking to get back to winning ways when they travel to the Peter Mokaba Stadium to take on a rejuvenated Polokwane City on Tuesday.

Amakhosi have proved simply unbeatable so far this season, having won nine and drawn two of their 11 Premiership matches to open up an 11-point lead at the top of the standings.

However, those previous stalemates have come in two of their last three league outings, with the most recent a 1-1 draw against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.

Stuart Baxter's side will now be hoping to return to the winning trail this week, but face a Rise and Shine outfit who have won three top-flight matches in a row, seeing off Bidvest Wits, Free State Stars and, most recently, Mpumalanga Black Aces.

However, City had managed just one victory in their eight league matches prior to the start of that winning streak, losing six and drawing one as they now sit just three points clear of the relegation zone.

A win over the Glamour Boys would, however, take them level with Bloemfontein Celtic in eighth, although the Limpopo-based team will be under no illusions as to the task they face against the Soweto giants.

On the team front, Chiefs coach Baxter has already declared his intentions to rotate his squad, with the recent round of international fixtures having taken its toll on some of the club's first-choice starters.

The Englishman went on to confirm that Mandla Masango will in all likeliness be rested, while Reneilwe Letsholonyane is another who could be given the evening off.

Polokwane, meanwhile, reported no fresh injury concerns heading into the tie, and Thobani Mncwango will be pushing for a place in the starting XI, having come on as a substitute against Black Aces before opening the scoring.
