Preview: Platinum Stars v AmaZulu

Cape Town - Ndumiso Mabena has overcome a knee problem and will be fit for the Premiership clash between his side Platinum Stars and AmaZulu in Rustenburg.

Dikwena's star striker picked up the injury in the Telkom Knockout semi-final win over Mamelodi Sundowns on November 9, but has since recovered.

However, Sibusiso Hadebe and Lucky Nguzana (both knee) are ruled out of the clash at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium, which will also be missed by captain Vuyo Mere through suspension.

The hosts are expected to field their best available XI despite having one eye on the Telkom Knockout final next week. They are precariously placed in the league, sitting second from bottom, four points ahead of their visitors, although they do have a game in hand.

Usuthu, meanwhile, are still without injured quartet John Arwuah, Larry Horaeb, Ayanda Dlamini and Marc van Heerden, while Nhlanhla Shabalala is an injury doubt due to a groin complaint.

Another man with availability doubts is key striker Bongani Ndulula after he withdrew from the Bafana Bafana team that drew with Nigeria in midweek because of flu.

AmaZulu are the only winless club in the Premiership this season and interim coach Wilfred Mugeyi admitted the pressure is on to quickly turns things around.

"We have had some problems and addressed them during the international break," he said. "It's now time for us to deliver. Hopefully we can make a good start to this next period of games and improve our situation by Christmas."

Last season, Usuthu won 2-0 in Durban before Dikwena claimed revenge with a 1-0 win in the return game in Rustenburg.

Kick-off is at 18:00 on Saturday, November 22.
