Preview: Orlando Pirates v Chippa

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates will go in search of their first win of the 2015/16 PSL campaign when they host Chippa United at the Orlando Stadium.

The Buccaneers entered the season on the back of their Carling Black Label Cup win over bitter rivals Kaizer Chiefs, while they are also on the verge of progressing past the CAF Confederations Cup group stages following the 2-0 win over CS Sfaxien in early August.

However, Eric Tinkler's men fell short in the MTN8 quarter-finals after losing 1-0 to Ajax Cape Town, while going down by the same scoreline to SuperSport United in in a delayed Premiership match which took place over two days last week.

Chippa, meanwhile, have been far less active, with only one league outing to speak of so far this term, although the Chilli Boys put on a determined display to hold defending league champions Chiefs to a goalless draw, despite playing all of the second half a man down.

The Port Elizabeth-based outfit will now head out on the road for the first time this term, but do so without Joseph Molangoane, who picked up two yellow cards and a subsequent sending off against Amakhosi.

Pirates are also without a key man in Brighton Mhlongo, with the goalkeeper facing up to eight weeks on the sidelines after undergoing surgery to help fix the anterior cruciate ligament damage he suffered to his knee against Matsatsantsa.

Kick-off is at 19:30 on Tuesday, August 18.
