Preview: Maritzburg v Wits

Cape Town - Maritzburg United have a clean bill of health and could even hand an overdue full debut to on-loan Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Sibusiso Kumalo when they entertain Bidvest Wits at Harry Gwala Stadium.

The Premiership programme resumes after almost two months off as both clubs will be looking to further solidify their top-eight statuses.

They did not end their 2014 run in a satisfactory manner as the Students were held to a goalless draw by the University of Pretoria, while the Team of Choice stumbled to a 2-1 away defeat to Polokwane City.

From a log perspective, both sides will not have a bearing on each other as nine points separate their third (Wits) and seventh (Maritzburg) positions.

Kumalo has been out for most of the season, only tasting 27 minutes of action as a substitute.

Wits too have a clean slate in terms of injuries, with only Calvin Kadi on the long-term casualty list.

Papy Faty could return after nearly nine months out.

Kick-off is at 19:30.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
