Preview: AmaTuks v Pirates

Cape Town - Sammy Troughton and Sly Mosala will make their coaching debuts with University of Pretoria when Orlando Pirates visit the Tuks Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The pair were named as Steve Barker's replacements, with the tactician having departed his role with AmaTuks to take up the same position with PSL rivals AmaZulu.

Troughton and Mosala will now be hoping to pick up where Barker left off, with Tuks having won both of their last two Premiership outings, seeing off Ajax Cape Town 3-0 prior to the international break before coming back from two goals down to beat Moroka Swallows 3-2 on Saturday.

The duo will, however, face somewhat of a baptism of fire when a rejuvenated Pirates outfit make the trip to Pretoria, with Vladimir Vermezovic's side having dispatched SuperSport United on Sunday to climb to fourth on the Absa Premiership standings, below third-placed Maritzburg United only on goal difference.

The Buccaneers will now be hoping to use that result as a springboard in their Premiership title bid, although they have more than a mountain to climb as they currently sit a whopping 12 points off the pace of leaders Kaizer Chiefs, who are in action against Polokwane City 24 hours earlier.

On the team front, AmaTuks will have to do without the services of Tebogo Monyai, who is out with suspension, while Mpho Matsi is just one booking away from suffering the same fate.

Pirates also have a suspension to deal with as Happy Jele is ineligible for selection, while Daine Klate and Thabo Qalinge will need to tread lightly as they are each on three yellow cards.

Kick-off is at 19:30.
