Chippa stumble in Polokwane

Polokwane - Polokwane Cityhas  claimed a come-from-behind 3-1 win over Chippa United in an Absa Premiership encounter at the old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday night.

The Chilli Boys took an early lead though George Akpabio, but goals either side of half time from Tshepo Molala and Rendani Ndou, as well as a late penalty from Dodam Dogere, saw Rise and Shine claim the victory.

Chippa got off to a great start and opened the scoring just eight minutes into the first half. Andile Mbenyane provided the assist and George Akpabio was able to find the back of the net with a right-footed shot.

Polokwane reacted well to going behind and drew level in the 38th minute through Tshepo Molala, who turned home Jabu Maluleke’s cross to make it 1-1.

Rendani Ndou headed home Joseph Musonda’s cross in the 62nd minute to make it 2-1 and put Rise and Shine ahead for the first time in the game.

The hosts created several chances to add to their advantage, but had to wait until injury time before substitute Dodam Dogere netted from the penalty spot to make it 3-1.
