Polokwane focused on Top 8

Polokwane - With only four games remaining in the PSL season, Polokwane City’s main objective is to finish inside the Top 8 at end of the 2014/15 season, says the veteran skipper Jabulani Maluleke.

City lost their second consecutive match as they went 3-2 down at home to relegation-threatened Free State Stars on Saturday, but the former Black Leopards and SuperSport United midfielder believes Rise and Shine can still make it to the top half of the table.

The 33-year-old playmaker said they were just unfortunate to lose against Eila Koto in the dying minutes of the game.

"I think luck was just not on our side on the day," said Maluleke.

"But well done to the boys and our opponents for such a great game.

"The fighting spirit from both teams was outstanding.

"We lost two games in a row but it’s still our target to finish inside the top 8 at the end of the season.

"I still believe that we can achieve that with only four games left to play.

"We won’t give up on that one."

Rise and Shine are currently lying ninth on the log, trailing eighth placed Maritzburg United by goal difference.

City will be looking to spoil the party when they face Kaizer Chiefs at the FNB stadium on Wednesday.

Kick-off is at 19:30.
