Polokwane: No offers for Cole

Cape Town - Polokwane City general manager Costa Bellos has refuted claims the club have been receiving offers for star midfielder Cole Alexander.

Alexander was a vital cog in Rise and Shines' bid to stave off Premiership relegation last term and the pivot's performances helped them to 12th-place finish, four points above the drop zone, earning him a nomination for Player of the Season.

It was something of a breakthrough campaign for the playmaker after failing to make an impression in his time at Ajax Cape Town.

Additionally, his form earned him a call up and two caps for Bafana Bafana in friendlies against Swaziland and Nigeria earlier this year.

He has unsurprisingly earned admiring glances from rival clubs in the Premiership, but Bellos insists City has not received any offers for the player yet.

"As far as I know, there is nothing that I can say regarding Cole Alexander and us receiving any offers," he told KickOff.

"What I know and I'm sure you received the press release is that we will have an announcement on Friday regarding players that we have signed.

"Unfortunately I don't know their names on top of my head but Friday we will unveil them."
