Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele believes that the team's head coach, Pitso Mosimane, is one of the best in the country.

The Brazilians' failure to reach the heights they achieved last season has led to many questioning Mosimane's competency, with some going as far to say that he should be sacked.

However, while Downs may have been knocked out of both cups and lying in fifth in the Premiership standings, 12 points off the pace set by Kaizer Chiefs, Mphahlele remains forthright in his belief that Mosimane is up there with the best in the land.

"No doubt, he is one of the best South Africa has. There's no doubt about that," Mphahlele told Goal.

"He proved it when he came to Sundowns. The team was struggling, and the following season he won the league.

"The guy has been around and he knows his football. He's passionate about football. So, for me he is one of the best in South Africa."
