Pitso comes clean over Vila deal

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says their pursuit of Sibusiso Vilakazi is far from over, with the Tshwane giants already looking ahead to January.

The Bidvest Wits striker is currently one of the hottest properties in South Africa, and has been a long-time target of the Brazilians, who even made a bid - albeit a failed one - for his services on transfer deadline day last week.

Mosimane, though, is determined to eventually land his man, who he says is just as keen to join Sundowns, and will undoubtedly be revisiting a potential deal in the next transfer period at the beginning of 2016.

"Yes, we wanted him [Vilakazi] and we engaged Wits and the player wants to come to us," Mosimane said.

"It's not a big secret, otherwise you would not been asking and writing, otherwise he could have said long ago, 'I'm moving nowhere, I'm happy at Wits.'

"The player wants a different environment hence we approached Wits, properly, not from the boot of a car. We approached them properly but we couldn't agree on figures."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
