According to the club’s official website, the hard running full-back was stretchered off the pitch after picking up a hamstring strain in Pirates' 1-0 win against CS Sfaxien on Sunday evening.

“Thabo suffered what appears to be a hamstring strain,” said the club’s medical department.

“He was treated immediately treated with the RICE Principle as well as an anti-inflammatory.

“He will go to a specialist during the course of the week to assess the full extent of his injury.”

Meanwhile, the squad will depart Tunisia on Monday en route to Dubai, where they will connect and arrive back in Johannesburg on Tuesday morning.

Eric Tinkler and the Pirates squad are due to arrive at 10:50.
