The 27-year-old striker was in great form for the Cape Town outfit during the 2014/2015 season with his goals catching the eye of the Soweto Giants.
He finished in third place on the NFD top scorers’ log with 15 league goals this season.
Only Jomo Cosmos’ Zimbabwean striker, Charlton Mashumba, and Phumelele Bhengu of Thanda Royal Zulu managed to find the net more regularly than Memela. Supersport United have since snapped up the services of Bhengu as PSL clubs look to raid the NFD to find goal scorers.
Memela’s 15 goals helped secure a comfortable eighth place finish for Cape Town All Stars in the NFD.
According to Soccer Laduma, a source close to the player has claimed that the striker has already signed with the Buccaneers.
“(Amigo) Memela has signed for Orlando Pirates. He is from Cape Town All Stars. It’s a done deal,” the source said.
The Soweto Giants are also reported to have signed two other players from the NFD – Maluti FC midfielder, Thembinkosi Lorch, as well as Baroka FC captain, Gift Motupa.
