Pirates need to pull up their socks - Pollen

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates legend Pollen Ndlanya says that he is struggling to understand why the Buccaneers are not playing well locally.

Ndlanya mentioned that Chippa United won’t make it easy for the Sea Robbers but he has faith that they will make their comeback.

“These boys [Pirates] are not playing well locally, I really don’t know what is wrong with their attitude I will say this many times,” the legend told Sport24.

“It’s not going to be easy because Chippa played well against Chiefs. They were short of one man but they still kept on going which really troubled Chiefs.

The former striker made a point that he knows the Chilli Boys respect their coach Roger Sikhakhane’s philosophy and will also strive to prove their point on the field.

“It shows dedication goes a long way. But I know Pirates management and they always have meetings and they will sort those issues out so they will definitely come out and want to win by all costs, because it doesn’t make sense with the way they are performing.

“They are lacking consistency but with Chippa they will try to prove otherwise. Sikhakhane’s boys truly understand their coach and his philosophy and they will also try to prove their point alongside their opposition.

“Tinkler has played this game and he understands it well so he needs to push his team be consistent.

“If you look at Barcelona they are always consistent and play as a team so for a team to succeed, they need to be consistent.

“They belong here, in the domestic league. These boys really need to start pulling up their socks and start winning some games,” Dlanya concluded.

The Sea Robbers will meet Chippa United tonight, August 18 at Orlando stadium.

Kick-off is set for 19:30.
