Cape Town - Eric Tinkler will continue to guide the Orlando Pirates ship with the club stating "there is no need to interrupt his growing momentum".
The Orlando Pirates website reports that Eric Tinkler will remain in charge of the club when the 2015/16 season begins.
"Orlando Pirates Caretaker Coach Eric Tinkler is to continue being in charge of the Orlando Pirates senior team." said a statement on the club's website.
"There is no reason to change anything as this might have a negative effect on the momentum Eric has managed to build”, said Orlando Pirates Chairman, Dr Irvin Khoza.
“Continuity is important in football. It is important from both a physical and psychological standpoint. Eric’s hand is getting sturdier with time. There is no need to interrupt his growing momentum”, Dr Khoza added.
The club did not confirm the arrangements of the extension on Tinkler stay.
Under Tinkler, Orlando Pirates is the last South African team still standing in African competition. Tinker will therefore be at helm when the 2015/2016 season commence.
