Cape Town - Orlando Pirates Public Relations Officer Mickey Modisane dismissed speculation that striker Thulasizwe Mbuyane will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Mbuyane, 30, has hardly featured for the Sea Robbers under the helm of Roger de Sa. The competition is tough in his position although sometimes he can be used as a winger.
Speaking exclusively to Sport24 last Friday, Modisane said the club is focusing solely on the Telkom Knockout final match against Platinum Stars to be played at the Mbombela Stadium on Saturday.
He said Pirates boss, Dr Irvin Khoza, will deal with the players' contracts after the final.
“At the moment the club is not focusing on the players contracts," Modisane told Sport24.
"The matter regarding contracts can only be dealt with by the chairman of the club."
"As a club we are focusing on winning the Telkom Knockout cup and the rest will be given our attention afterwards.
"Mbuyane is still our player," he added.
The "Juju man" joined Pirates from Free State Stars back in July 2008 and has helped the Happy People clinch back-to-back trebles in 2011 and 2012.
It remains to be seen if Mbuyane will still be at Parktown offices next season.
