Pirates beat Ke Yona team

Johannesburg - Nedbank Cup defending champions Orlando Pirates edged out the Nedbank Ke Yona team 2-0 to lift the Cup at the Orlando Stadium.

According to the Sea Robbers website, a first half goal by Lennox Bacela and a second half strike by Letsie Koapeng ensured victory for the Buccaneers against a Nedbank select team of unknowns who are under the guidance of Mike Mangena and Khabo Zondo.

The Bucs team predominantly made out of the reserves took the lead in the opening stanza through Bacela who pounced on a rebound off a shot by Kamohelo Mabuya.

The Bucs missed lot of chances in the second half but Koapeng showed great composure as he doubled the lead for them.

The Ke Yona Team gave a valiant performance and their goalkeeper Luthando Sixhaso was voted man of the match after he denied the Bucs frontline on many occasions.
