Pirates aim for 100% at home

Johannesburg - Orlando Pirates coach Julio Leal knows his side need to collect maximum points at home if they are to defend their PSL title.

The Buccaneers began the season with a comfortable 2-0 victory at Black Leopards last Friday, but the Soweto giants struggled at home on Tuesday before eventually clinching a 1-0 victory over Platinum Stars.

While Leal revealed he is happy with the character his side showed against Stars, he admits the Sea Robbers need to be more clinical at home as they look to retain their Absa Premiership crown.

"At home we have to collect as many points possible," Leal told Sunday Tribune.

"We had opportunities to score and Stars made it difficult for us to win but I'm happy that we fought for the three points.

"We just have to apply the right strategy. At home, we have to collect the most points possible."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
