Phungwayo: We are ready for a fight

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates defender Patrick Phungwayo says their Telkom Knockout clash against the University of Pretoria won't be an easy encounter.

The Buccaneers resume their domestic campaign with their rescheduled cup tie following their two-legged CAF Confederation Cup semi-final win over Al Ahly.

And Phungwayo says the Buccaneers are now keen to keep their winning run going, but knows Pretoria Uni will provide a stern challenge at Orlando Stadium.

"We know we are a force to be reckoned with and to keep that we have to win games here at home," Phungwayo told Soccer Laduma.

"Right now we are preparing for the Telkom Knockout game against Tuks.

"We know it won't be easy but we are ready for a fight that will take us to the next round as we want to protect our reputation."

Pirates will be looking to find form in the Absa Premiership after a poor star before they take on Etoile du Sahel in the CAF Confederation Cup final next month.

Meanwhile, Pirates take on AmaTuks on Friday, October 16.

Kick-off is at 20:00.
