Petersen thanks RDS

Cape Town - Despite Ajax Cape Town only managing a draw against bottom of the log AmaZulu at Cape Town Stadium last night, Brandon Petersen managed to show his talent when he was called upon to start an Absa Premiership match for the first time this season.

Two late goals from Ayanda Dlamini and Franklin Cale saw Ajax and AmaZulu draw 1-1 in match day 16 of the 2014/15 Absa Premiership season.

According to the clubs official website, he visitors struck first when Dlamini was quickest to react to a corner which involved a goalmouth scramble, before the ball eventually crossed Petersen’s goal line.

Ajax, though, were not to be outdone and managed to level matters  soon after with virtually the last kick of the match as Franklin Cale fired home a ferocious 30-yard free-kick past AmaZulu goalkeeper Aubrey Mathibe.

Brandon Petersen drew many positives from the match and took the time to thank his coach and teammates for the opportunity to play again, as well as for their support.

“Well firstly I would like to thank the coach for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to play. I also want to thank everyone for their support, I really appreciate it.”

“It was good for me to be able to play again, the feeling was awesome and I think I did fairly well. As for the team, I think we played well and created a few chances, but we just couldn’t capitalise.”

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
