Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town goalkeeper Brandon Petersen believes his experience training with Ajax Amsterdam will aid him in his development.
Petersen, who came through the youth set-up at the Urban Warriors, has been the understudy to Anssi Jaakola at the Cape Town-based club since breaking into the first team this season.
Viewed as an immediate successor to the Finn, the 20-year-old traveled to the Netherlands earlier this month to train with the Ajax Amsterdam squad.
And the South Africa juniour international, who made four appearances for Ajax before leaving for Holland, believes his stint in the Dutch capital will prove invaluable during his career.
"The experience of being at such a big club is awesome," the young stopper is quoted as saying by SuperSport.
"Because it’s every young footballers dream to train with a big team like Ajax Amsterdam and spend time with the coaches and players," Petersen told his club’s website.
"The training is pretty much the same, the only difference is that the intensity is higher, the tempo is quicker and the players are technically very good and physically stronger.
"The facilities are world class at Ajax Amsterdam but I think Ajax CT is getting to that level.
"I've gotten some positive feedback from the coaches and also some negative feedback of stuff I have to work on but that's normal.
"All the coaches are friendly and open so they tell you what they see."
