Pelembe not in it for the money

Cape Town - Bidvest Wits new boy Elias Pelembe says he is targeting trophies with his new club after accepting a pay cut to play under coach Gavin Hunt once again.

Pelembe, 31, recently linked up with the Clever Boys following a six-year stint at Sundowns, where he saw his playing time restricted in recent times.

The playmaker is looking forward to renewing his working relationship with Hunt, having previously worked under the coach during their time together at SuperSport United.

"I am looking forward to getting more game time," Pelembe told Times Live. "I can still play and I can show it.

"I want to give my best and help my new team. I don't want to talk about Sundowns.

"Sometimes in football it's not about the money. It's about playing and I am very happy. A pay cut does not affect me.

"I have no complaints because I just want to play. I won trophies at all the clubs I have played for and I hope I keep doing the same at Wits."
