Paulse eyeing SuperSport deal

Johannesburg - Free-agent Nathan Paulse is hopeful of securing a contract with SuperSport United after impressing while in training with the Premier Soccer League club.

The former Avendale Athletico, Ajax Cape Town, Hammarby IF and Platinum Stars striker, who has also spent time on loan with Bloemfontein Celtic, is without a club after being released by Dikwena at the end of last season.

The 30-year-old, who has been keeping fit with Matsatsantsa in the off-season, netted in a 2-2 draw with Santos in a pre-season friendly in Cape Town on Wednesday during a 45-minute cameo.

Following the match, Paulse told the Sowetan: "I was just training with SuperSport at my own request and I must thank them for allowing me to do so.

"It was really for me to keep fit and stay within a professional environment rather than train on my own, but I think it went well and I certainly enjoyed it.

"We haven't spoken about any sort of deal, but you never know what can happen in football. Maybe something will come of it.

"I obviously have quite a bit of PSL experience and my scoring record is quite good. I am feeling fit and enjoying my football still."
