Pattison unsure of 2014/15 future

Cape Town - Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, Mathew Pattison, is uncertain where he will be playing his football in the upcoming 2014/15 season.

According to Soccer Laduma, the 27-year-old is currently in England looking for a return to a UK club and has been linked with a move to League One side, Bristol City.

Pattison previously spent time playing for Norwich City and Newcastle United before playing for Sundowns, Santos and Bidvest Wits in South Africa.

Paul Mitchell, of Siyavuma Sports Group, revealed that Pattison is still contracted to Wits. There was speculation that his contract with the Clever Boys had been terminated.

“Matthew is still under contract at Wits, there has been interest overseas and in South Africa, but we’re just discussing options with Wits about the way forward now,” said Mitchell.

Meanwhile, Wits were forced into penalties against Bloemfontein Celtic in order to secure a MTN8 semi-final spot.

Wits open their 2014/15 PSL campaign against SuperSport United at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on August 9.
