Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs forward, Bernard Parker, will miss the clash with Ajax Cape Town on Wednesday night after picking up his fourth yellow card.
According to the Soccer-Laduma website, the striker, who turned 28 this past weekend, was shown a yellow card in the 1-0 win over Orlando Pirates on Saturday, meaning that he will now have to serve a one-game ban.
Parker was one of several players in the Amakhosi ranks on the verge of a suspension, though he was the only one to pick up his fourth card in the Soweto Derby.
Chiefs now have Knowledge Musona, Morgan Gould, Reneilwe Letsholonyane and Tefu Mashamite sitting on three yellows, meaning that a booking for any of them against Ajax would result in them missing the Nedbank Cup game against FC Buffalo.
Parker’s absence could see Matthew Rusike, who came on for Parker during the derby, handed a place in the side should Stuart Baxter stick to the same formation, however he could opt to play two up front, with Musona and Kingston Nkhatha starting the game.
