Johannesburg - Bafana Bafana striker Bernard Parker has joined South African soccer giants Kaizer Chiefs, reports the Sowetan.

Parker has signed a one-year contract with Chiefs from Holland side FC Twente.

Twente confirmed on their website on Thursday morning that Parker is now a property of Amakhosi.

This is what we call a good choice signing. Well done Amakhosi. Good luck Bernard. You're a good striker.

Oh, reading that heading I thought Parker's going to be the official supplier of pens to Chiefs, there's a footballer named Parker hey, did not know that, every day we learn

Don't expose your little knowledge of this sport!!

I think Inhlanzi was being sarcastic and justifiably so. Parker has not been playing in Europe, he was deemed surplus a FC Twente and loaned to lowly backwater leagues where even there he sat on the bench.

  • Tunkisi - 2011-07-28 13:32

    Nice move chips!!!

  • GHT - 2011-07-28 13:34

That goal he scored against that minnow country (can't remember the name) in the warm up matches for the world cup was just insane. Great that he is coming back. Now he will actually get game time!

  • RacingShark - 2011-07-28 14:52

Its a good thing parker returned instead of being loaned out again to a european backwater league playing on the bench for a team struggling against relegation. My biggest criticism of Parker and his constant selection for Bafana was that he was a bench warmer for teams that are lower than our PSL teams. I really hope he proves me wrong and gets first team football at Chiefs and prove he is worthy of playing for Bafana . Good luck and welcome back

Our guys could not play better because the Ausies were too classy for our mediocre side, accept it and improve against All Blacks.
